Public Information Committee (PI): The purpose is to carry the AA message to the still-suffering alcoholic by informing and providing AA Literature to the general public, media, schools, industry, etc. . . . about what AA has to offer. This is done through public service announcements, and visits to schools and other organizations.
This committee informs the public that Alcoholics Anonymous exists and how to contact AA. Panels meet with the media, schools, clubs, and the general public and show videos (produced by the General Service Office), provide literature, give contact information as well as answer questions.
This committee stresses singleness of purpose, does not give drunk-a-logues, and does not endorse nor oppose any cause.
